The Nāfuel are classified as the followers of Virūpākṣa (Pāli: Virūpakkha), one of several Four Heavenly Kings who guards the western path. They work as guards upon Mount Sumeru, preserving the dēvas of Trāyastriṃśa from assaults with the asuras.
